Terms of Service

Last updated: 16 May 2026

1. Acceptance of terms

By creating an account or using Chatter, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the service.

2. Eligibility

You must be at least 13 years old to use Chatter. If you are using Chatter on behalf of an organization, you confirm you are authorized to bind that organization to these Terms.

3. Your account

  • You are responsible for safeguarding your password and devices.
  • You agree to provide accurate information and keep it up to date.
  • You are responsible for all activity that occurs under your account.

4. Acceptable use

You agree not to use Chatter to:

  • Send unlawful, harassing, or abusive content.
  • Distribute malware, phishing links, or spam.
  • Reverse engineer, scrape, or interfere with the service or its infrastructure.
  • Impersonate any person or misrepresent your identity.
  • Violate any applicable law or third-party right.

5. Your content

You retain ownership of all content you send through Chatter. We do not claim any rights to your messages or media. Because content is end-to-end encrypted, we cannot view it, but we may act on reports of abuse using available metadata.

6. Paid plans

Paid subscriptions auto-renew until cancelled. You can cancel at any time from your billing settings. Fees already paid are non-refundable except where required by law.

7. Service availability

We work hard to keep Chatter available, but we do not guarantee uninterrupted service. We may modify, suspend, or discontinue features with reasonable notice.

8. Termination

You may delete your account at any time via data deletion. We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms, typically with notice unless the violation is severe.

9. Disclaimers

Chatter is provided “as is” without warranties of any kind. We disclaim all implied warranties to the maximum extent permitted by law.

10. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Chatter and its affiliates shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages arising from your use of the service.

11. Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the jurisdiction in which Chatter operates, without regard to conflict-of-law principles.

12. Changes to terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. Material changes will be announced at least 30 days in advance.
